Laura Zera: Travel, Diversity and Food Culture

Laura Zera is a freelance writer and the author of Tro-tros and Potholes: West Africa Solo, which chronicles her solo adventures through five countries in West Africa.

Laura has worked in microenterprise in South Africa, Seattle, and Cameroon, and has also held several project management positions in telecommunications and Information Technology.

She has visited more than 50 countries, feasting on their culinary delights and disasters with gusto (although she recently turned down an opportunity while in Honduras to validate that termites taste like carrots). An intrepid adventurer and writer that will go just about anywhere for a story, Laura’s website can be found at www.laurazera.com

She is currently working on her second book, Crazy for You, which will be a resource for children of a schizophrenic parent.
