What’s with eggs these days? It’s déjà vu, all over again! This time we’re talking hard-boiled, not “shell eggs.” Summer of 2010 saw the recall of more than 550 million – that’s half a billion, folks! – shell eggs contaminated with salmonella. Now Michael Foods Inc., a Minnesota-based food company, is recalling – and recalling 
GoodFood World strongly supports this legislation and will continue to provide information regarding the introduction, production, marketing and sale of food containing genetically modified organisms. 
Kamut International is a supporter for the “Just Label It: Right to Know” campaign urging the US Department of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to require mandatory labeling for genetically engineered food.

Gentlemen, may we have your attention please? There are lots and lots of reasons not to eat a diet heavy in junk food and several medical studies have identified just one more. Scientists from America and Spain have announced that a diet of junk food can lead to infertility in healthy males. 
Face it, this is another peremptory move by Big Ag and Big Food – full of the usual propaganda – to win over consumers as they move to prevent new regulations and restrictions ranging from tighter rules on pesticide applications to a potential ban of routine, preventative use of animal antibiotics. I admit, if they really could repair the environment that they have despoiled, or restore the public health which they have damaged, or even think about sharing the wealth with the workers who they’ve cheated, I might jump over to their side. Don’t hold your breath! 
People like Will Allen and Erika Allen, his daughter, have been able to convince Chicago’s politicians that for-profit businesses like urban farms can be an economic engine, not just for the farmers and their employees, but for the city in the form of tax revenues. A well-functioning urban land use policy will allow small farms and food related businesses to put people to work, to generate income, and to pay taxes. |

The Environmental Working Group and authors Anna Lappé and Dan Imhoff initiated the following letter of frustration with the lack of meaningful reforms and public input into the legislative process by the Senate Agriculture Committee as it drafted its 2012 Farm Bill.
